Bruny Island

We packed up and headed off to Bruny Island. On the way, we stopped at 'The Salmon Ponds'. It was definitely one of the best spur of the moment decisions of our holiday. The gardens were so beautiful and there were so many types of salmon and trout. We all really enjoyed ourselves there. We then went on to Hobart where we collected some extra supplies before we drove to the ferry which took us to Bruny Island.

The Entrance to The Salmon Ponds.
There is a cheeky wild Platypus that sometimes crawls through the bushes and swims in the ponds. Mum was thrilled to have actually seen one. It was quite tame and we were all able to touch it when it came close. It was a pretty special moment for all of us.
 On the way to Hobart.
On the ferry. Our poor GPS was freaking out telling us to go to the nearest road.
A super cute baby Echidna that we saw on the side of the road shortly after arrival on Bruny Island.
A beach near our campsite on Bruny island.
This is a photo that Jono took with his GoPro camera of the waves at the beach, directly adjacent to our campsite.

  1. So glad you went to the Salmon Ponds. We knew you would enjoy it. Loved the photos and Jono's GoPro photo was amazing. Keep on enjoying the beautiful world of Tasmania. Love Gma and Gpa.

  2. What is a GoPro camera? Why did no one fall in the pond? I now feel I should have sympathy for the GPS-lady.
Still looking fun, ..... but those waves! Love to all. MJG x
